Resting with the Abigail’s and Wild Daisies

Thank You Lord For Shining Your Light

You uprooted the fragrant grove of trees,
As if I lost myself in the forestal jade,
I had no idea you were calling my name-
The greenwood echoed with your voice:

I seen the thickets you warned me about
When I was just a very small unencumbered child
The tree veld spoke of your mighty songs
A praying timberland of jubilee and praise

It was the fresh scent of the kindling pimento
and the perfuming lilacs that drew me in
Nestled silently with supplications
That at first I thought where the lily of the valley
As I seen a woman smile with a hemp basket
fanning an oak fire with woodland palms

The poisonous ivy grows rampant there
Though I always avoided it’s touch
My curiosity admired it’s ripening heights
Knowing that even the ivory white berries of beauty
Are a warning to leave this brining place

I felt trapped unable to see through the forestry
I too felt the grass bristles and pine thorns
They grow over the abating hedge grove
The sacred place where I thought I’d see you
Resting with the abigail’s and wild daisies

But, I hadn’t realized at first, how far I traveled
Lost inside the chase of an unending maze
Into the timber’s of inseminate wastelands
Leaving you calling for me from your mountains

I thank you for scattering me as a fertile seed
Though I was caught upon a dark uninhabitable wind
You uprooted that fragrant grove of trees for me
Cultivating your glorious light to mercifully shine the way
Planting me with forgiveness inside your sacred garden
Allowing me to grow…

Thank You Lord For Shining Your Light
