Poetry Memoirs: I Love You

Poetry Memoirs: I Love You

I gathered your favorite wildflower bouquet
The baby’s breath floated upon the breeze
Wafting with the scent of rose perfumes
I placed the red and lavender ones in my hair

The mulberry trees are garnished…sweetly abloom
I will be making your favorite crumble when they fall
I wished you could taste my strawberry rhubarb jam
I may take some to the farm stand this year to share

I left a trail of raspberry colored peonies for you
I made the basket from my yuka herb garden
The ribbons I wove from an old silk scarf
You know how much I like to save everything

I planted more bleeding hearts near the swing
The rope is grown over with wild ivy & wisteria vines
I want you to always know how much I love you
you are never far from my thoughts…I miss you…
